美心冰皮月餅/Maxim’s Snowy Mooncake

Starting in August, It’s always an annual excitement to see mooncakes stacked neatly onto displays in every single Chinese supermarket that I enter. 中秋節 (Mid-Autumn Festival) is just around the corner - September 12th!

I dearly missed this festival last year, not only because I was away from family, but I also missed my more or less annual tradition of buying mooncakes, of which I begun purchasing the 冰皮 (snowy) versions, which are lighter than the traditional egg yolk and lotus paste ones. Sadly enough, they were not available in Paris… I do hope to get the chance this year to buy some and eat them though — perhaps I will eat an extra mooncake or two to make up for last year’s loss!
